Inert!

Inert!

What a horrible little word.  It means motionless, unresponsive, sluggish or unmotivated.  Like a loved one in a coma.  Like a beautiful speedboat dead in the water.  Like a Bible sitting on a coffee table that never gets picked up, even to dust off.  Ugh!

Thank God nothing about God is inert.  God is alive and engaged.  He creates. He cares. He moves.  He responds.  He’s the opposite of inert.

Did you hear about the lazy husband who’d been dead in his recliner for 4 days before his wife found out about it?  That’s inert!  Don’t you think we all should be a little more like God, get up from wherever we are and get moving!  I mean right now. Go on… get going! Don’t be inert!
