3-1-2012 (for Feb)

To all our beloved Pastors, Ministers, and Congregations; greetings!

District Convention time is here!

PTL! Margaret and I look forward to seeing you at the Crowne Plaza on March 5-7.

On Monday the entire day will be filled with Youth Ministries!  The Junior and Teen Talent competition is something you don’t want to miss; finishing with a rousing Rally Monday night!

Tuesday morning is our Home Missions service followed by afternoon business. Director Ken Malone is ready to preach! Tuesday night is World Missions with Aldair and Hillary Queiroz.  Come expecting a move of the Holy Spirit!

Wednesday Morning is Women’s Ministries and Margaret has a special morning planned for all! Wednesday Evening is the Ordination Service which is the ministry memory of a lifetime for our candidates. Don’t miss these great services!  Amen.

I’m still praying and fasting that every pastor who attends these services will received at least ½ dozen sermons to take home and preach! PTL!

Margaret is getting a great response from the District for the Ahikam Missions Project! PTL!  In this photo        รจ (photo not available)

Mother Lode pastors were honored with certificates for their contributions.  5 of their 8 churches participated.  The section set a goal of $2,000.00, but when the offering was received it totaled $7,100.00.  PTL!  Margaret says, “Thank you!” to Mother Lode, as well as to all of our churches participating in this special project to rescue young mothers in Guatemala.  We believe the offering we will receive on Wednesday morning at District Convention will be outstanding!

Happy Valentine’s Day ladies!

Margaret made a haul on Valentine’s Day and she was delighted!  A special “Thank you!” to the ladies from New Life in Oroville for thinking of her and sending her a beautiful bouquet of roses!  She also received a Starbucks gift card and some chocolates too.  My daughter Amy received flowers and chocolates from a personal admirer.  Giovanna had flowers, balloons, and candy delivered to her at the office.  So, Don and I have been on the receiving end of a lot of candy! It’s not stealing when it’s in my own refrigerator! I hope all our ladies enjoyed the day as much as my girls did.
<This is not evidence of the existence of Aliens! This is a silhouette photo of my daughter Amy wearing her Happy Valentine’s Day hat for her pre-school children. If you look hard you’ll see the antennae are hearts! The kids thought it was cool. Me too!

Discipleship Class:We haven’t slowed down yet! We’ve got to be nearly caught up with all the credential applicants that must take these classes to advance. According to Director Shawn Marshall we have processed over 75 applicants through the classes now. PTL! I have loved teaching these classes and getting acquainted with our credential applicants in the process. Now we are taking the classes on the road and Director Marshall will be teaching them at Crescent City for those in the Redwood Empire area who are interested. If you are in the credential process, working towards your Exhorters, License, or Ordination credential, you must take the History/Doctrine class and the Character/Calling/ and Commission class. You can take these classes on your own, or take them with us. We look forward to seeing you.

V Calvary Way PCG at Ukiah with Pastors Calvin and Jenny Thompson. It’s been quite a while since we’ve been blessed to preach for our old home church, so we were delighted when Pastor Cal asked us to take care of the church while he, Jen, and the family vacationed at Disneyland.Margaret taught Sunday School and preached Sunday night. That was a blast!I preached Sunday morning and we were blessed with 1 precious soul saved!Worship was led by Assistant Pastor Mark Marcos and he and the team did an outstanding job.The church was packed and we were thrilled to meet several new families and individuals (along with all our old friends). It was a refreshing day for Margaret and me.
