The English Standard Version of the Bible defines the word Wonderful as “the One who works wonders.” (Jdg. 13:18-19). Isaiah put it this way, His name is Wonderful! (Isa. 9:6) The wonderful One who works wonders is still with us. His name is Jesus!
When the people of Jerusalem saw the wonderful things Jesus did, they cried “Hosanna to the Son of David!” (Mt. 21:15) This exclamation means Jesus save us, and save us now! The wonderful One who works wonders is still saving people today. His name is Jesus!
In America we have an old saying that goes like this, “Will wonders never cease!” It’s usually used as an exclamation of surprise when something unexpected happens. Well, as long as Jesus is alive and with us, wonders will never cease! To which I say, “Hosanna to the Son of David!”
